Who I Really Am

Fear is my name, an acronym
of who I really am,
controlling my motion, the light
of my path, guiding my life.

I am often very good,
and sometimes very bad,
always driven to behavior
with fear leading the way.

I have allowed my emotional core
to be covered over,
as the mantle of the earth
covers its own core – hiding the reality.

A cauldron of emotions:
Joy and Happiness – Anger – Love,
all covered over and revealing only the blue sky,
the trees, the birds, the flowers.

Perhaps it is that some emotions can escape,
creating this pretty scenery,
but my fear always covers them again,
like a dark and treacherous storm
will cover a seasons day.

Now that I have the key –
knowledge – I can unlock the door.
I can breach this toughened mantle,
I can allow my feelings, thoughts, emotions, and actions
to achieve their rightful place, and reveal to myself,
who I really am.
